Weaverville Community Forest - What started as a protest against a proposed land exchange between BLM and a private timber company has evolved into a Stewardship Contract between the RCD and BLM, and now expanded onto USFS lands. This significant development has allowed the community to reiterate its desires for the community forest, has provided a local entity (the RCD) to provide a bridge between the community and the BLM and USFS, and lets revenue generated from forest health activities be used for other forest projects. Expansion of High Speed Internet – Trinity County is part of Redwood Coast Connect a collaborative project between Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino Counties who’s goal is to expand high speed internet to these rural counties and create a redundant system.
General Plan Update - The local General Plan can be described as the City’s or County’s “blueprint” for the future. It represents the community’s view of its future; a constitution made up of the goals and policies upon which the Board of Supervisors, and Planning Commission will base their land use decisions.
